Stephen Cameron, MD
Stephen Cameron, M.D. graduated from the University of Washington Medical School in 1992. In the years prior to that he was a member of the U.S.Whitewater Slalom Team and authored a best-selling book on whitewater kayaking.
He’s traveled extensively and has volunteered in Congo and Rwanda. In 2001, he worked with Doctors Without Borders treating tuberculosis in Abkhasia, a small country wedged between Georgia and the Black Sea.
He recently moved back to Portland after spending six years in Juneau, Alaska. It was there that he became interested in Addiction Medicine and worked for several years as the Medical Director of Rainforest Recovery Center, Southeast Alaska’s drug and alcohol rehabilitation hospital. The counseling and group aspects of Addiction Medicine are particularly rewarding to him.
